ACL Surgery

The ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) helps to keep the knee stable during physical activity. An injury occurs when this ligament becomes over-stretched, and tears. Your surgeon may suggest surgery to repair or reconstruct the ligament. Often, surgery is done arthroscopically, meaning that a small incision is made into the knee and a small instrument is placed into the incision in order to perform the surgery.
