Scott Blumenthal, MD is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic spine surgeon. Dr. Blumenthal attended Northwestern Medical School in Chicago. He completed his residency and internship in Dallas, TX at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Scott Blumenthal’s fellowships included work in physical medicine and rehabilitation and spinal trauma. Dr. Blumenthal is a co-director of the Center for Disc Replacement at Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery.

Dr. Blumenthal has focused his practice on the development, research and application of both lumbar and cervical artificial disc replacement surgery. He treats patients with spinal disorders including herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis and spondylosis. Dr. Blumenthal was the first surgeon in the United States to perform a lumbar disc replacement surgery and he has continued to utilize this motion preserving surgical option for his patients. Dr. Blumenthal is a partner at Texas Back Institute and has a location in Plano.
