Donald Hohman Jr. M.D. is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in total joint replacement and adult reconstructive procedures of the hip and knee. Dr. Hohman attended State University of New York at Buffalo where he completed his orthopaedic surgical training. In his final year of residency training, Dr. Hohman served as the administrative chief resident. He completed his fellowship training at the Brigham and Women’s hospital of the Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA where he spent an additional year training in Adult Reconstruction and Total Joint Arthroplasty.
Dr. Hohman specializes in the management of hip and knee conditions including osteoarthritis. Dr. Hohman uses many minimally invasive techniques, including anterior total hip replacement and partial knee replacement. Dr. Hohman strives to help get his patients return to normal activity as quickly as possible. Many of his patients are up and walking the same day of surgery and only require a short hospital stay.
Dr. Hohman is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). As an active member of these associations Dr. Hohman attends multiple national meetings annually allowing him to stay up to date on the latest evidence based treatment options for those suffering from chronic hip and knee pain. Dr. Hohman sees hip and knee patients locations in Plano and Dallas.
