James Conner Ryan, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacements, proudly serving patients at Texas Joint Institute in Frisco and Dallas, Texas.
A Dallas native, Dr. Ryan began his academic journey at The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, where he earned a B.A. in History. He then pursued his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, graduating at the top of his class. Dr. Ryan continued his medical education in San Antonio, completing a residency in orthopaedic surgery, which provided him with comprehensive training in musculoskeletal care. He further honed his expertise through a fellowship in adult reconstruction at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, training with leaders in the field of hip and knee replacement.
Dr. Ryan has contributed to his field through numerous presentations and published research. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Texas Medical Association.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Ryan is married to Page, an interior designer, and they have four children. He enjoys staying active and engaging in various sports, particularly golf, as well as fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending quality time with his family.
