Plantar fasciitis often develops in people who have high arches or flat feet, are overweight, spend a lot of time on their feet or have diabetes.
“It’s important to receive treatment for help pain right away,” says Leslie Campbell, D.P.M. podiatrist on the medical staff. “The longer people wait to seek relief for heel pain, the more difficult it is to treat.”
Measures for preventing plantar fasciitis include stretching before physical activity to keep muscles flexible and wearing shoes with plenty of arch support.
